King Harbor - Redondo Beach: 1968

This is a 1968 aerial photo of the Redondo Beach Pier / King Harbor area. The camera is pointing west of north.

At this point, the King Harbor redevelopment is only partially finished.  Pacific Avenue still runs from the center-bottom of the photo, past the pier, and all the way to PCH. The new saltwater swimming lagoon is shown straight inside the marina opening.  The old saltwater lagoon was located where the Southern California Edison plant (with the smokestacks, just NE of the new lagoon) is in the photo above.
