Los Angeles Harbor: 1937

This is an aerial photo of the Port of Los Angeles from May 18, 1937. The photo was taken with the camera facing a little west of north.

The Vincent Thomas Bridge now spans this section of the harbor, crossing the main channel above the 'S.P. Slip' marker and below the 'West Basin' marker.  Since the time of the photo, the harbor has grown significantly and a lot of the open water has been filled in to support port business.  Below is a view of the same area in 2005 ...
